Busy Bees - Managing Menopause in Manchester!
We do love an event here at PositivePause, particularly when it’s one of our own! After 18 months of organising popular ‘health and wellbeing for women in menopause’ events in London, we decided to take the PositivePause message out on the road with a ‘Feelgood Fair’. As Jo’s an exiled Mancunian, the location was a no-brainer, it was time to go back to her hometown to talk menopause!
In putting our latest event together, it’s been great to mix business with pleasure, take trips down memory lane, and be astonished at how Manchester city centre has changed! It’s also been a lovely opportunity for us to meet so many new people, both in person and online, all working to support and inspire north west women in menopause!
Living in a time of confusing, conflicting and contradictory menopause media soundbites, we aim to cut through the confusion, offer evidence-based information, support & solutions at events that have a positive vibe and distinctive ethos. With that in mind, we were delighted to secure a steller line-up of speakers who mesmerised the audience in Manchester’s contemporary event space, Federation House, as they shared straightforward, clear advice and inspirational life stories.
Our amazing MC & stand-up comic, Harriet Beveridge, not only educated us, she shared her experience of early menopause, kept the day on track and made us laugh (a lot), all at the same time! Speakers smashed some of the myths around menopause, and promoted the proactive, practical steps almost all women can take that can help manage the impact of symptoms and play a part in keeping women healthy in the long life they’ll live post-menopause. We’ll sharing more of this information in our PositivePause Campaign for World Menopause Day 2019.
Thank you to all our wonderful speakers, exhibitors and women who shared a positive pause with us in Manchester!
